“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

— Carl Rogers

Understanding ourselves can change the way we relate—to ourselves, to others, and to life.

What Brings You Here

You don’t have to be in crisis to seek therapy. Sometimes something is difficult; sometimes we want to understand ourselves better, navigate change or strengthen a relationship.

For me

  • “I can’t seem to switch my mind off.”
  • “I’m finding it difficult to focus, even when I want to.”
  • “I keep overthinking things—sometimes long after they’ve happened.”
  • “I feel overwhelmed by my emotions, and I’d like to handle them differently.”
  • “I don’t feel like myself lately.”
  • “I want to understand myself better and make some changes in my life.”

In my relationships

  • “I keep falling into the same patterns in my relationships.”
  • “We keep having the same arguments and don’t know how to get out of them.”
  • “I’m finding it difficult to feel understood or connected.”
  • “I want to communicate better and build healthier relationships.”

For someone I care about

  • “I’m worried about my child or teenager and don’t know how best to help.”
  • “Someone I care about is struggling, and I don’t know how to support them.”
  • “I want to better understand what my child is experiencing and how I can respond.”

And sometimes…

  • “I’m not sure what I need—I just know that something doesn’t feel right.”
  • “I’m not struggling with one particular problem. I just feel ready for something to change.”

You don’t need to have the right words, a diagnosis or everything figured out before you reach out. Therapy can be a space not only to work through difficulties, but also to learn, grow and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Meet Dr. Komal

A space to understand what lies beneath the surface

I’ve always been curious about what lies beneath the things we see on the surface—our emotions, the patterns we repeat and the ways our relationships shape us. I see therapy as a space to slow down, make sense of what is happening and understand ourselves with greater curiosity and compassion.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist licensed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). After completing my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Psychology from Delhi University, I pursued my M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from IHBAS, Delhi, and later completed my PhD in Psychology in the domain of Clinical and Social Psychology.

With over 16 years of experience, I work with children, adolescents and adults across emotional, behavioural and psychological concerns, and with couples and families navigating conflict, disconnection, communication difficulties and recurring relationship patterns.

My approach is integrative and individualised, drawing from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Gottman-informed and Humanistic approaches, along with Mindfulness-based work and further training in Systemic Therapy.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a TEDx speaker and have contributed to conversations around psychology through conferences, institutions, webinars, media and writing. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me travelling, discovering a new restaurant or taking my time over a good cup of coffee.

How I Can Help

People come to therapy for many different reasons. My work focuses on understanding what is happening beneath the surface and finding ways forward that fit the person, relationship and context.

Couples & Relationships

When the problem is the pattern between the two of you

You may love each other and still find yourselves caught in the same arguments, misunderstandings or cycles of distance and disconnection.

I work with recurring conflict, communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, trust and intimacy concerns, life transitions and recurring relationship patterns.

Individual Therapy

When something within you feels difficult to navigate

You may be dealing with anxiety, low mood, overwhelming emotions, overthinking, focus or motivation difficulties, self-esteem concerns or life transitions.

Therapy can help make sense of these experiences and develop more helpful ways of coping and responding.

Children, Adolescents & Families

When a young person is finding things difficult

Emotional or behavioural changes, school difficulties, relationships, confidence, adjustment or family changes can communicate that something needs attention.

I work with young people in an age-appropriate way, involving parents and families where helpful.

No two people—or relationships—experience difficulty in quite the same way. Therapy is about understanding your particular experience and finding an approach that fits.

Making psychology accessible in everyday life

Beyond the Therapy Room

Psychology has always been something I enjoy exploring and sharing beyond my clinical work. Through speaking, writing and public conversations, I try to make psychological ideas accessible, relevant and connected to everyday life.

Speaking & Webinars

Conversations about mental health and wellbeing

Alongside clinical practice, I regularly participate in conferences, webinars, workshops, institutional programmes and public conversations.

Writing & Publications

Psychology through writing

I have contributed to book chapters, professional publications and other writing on psychology and mental health, alongside academic presentations and related work.

You don't have to figure it all out alone.

If something has been weighing on you, therapy can be a place to begin understanding it.
