Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about therapy and sessions.

What can I seek therapy for?

People seek therapy for many different reasons—from feeling overwhelmed, anxious or low, to difficulties with relationships, work, motivation, self-esteem, life transitions or simply feeling stuck. I also work with couples experiencing recurring conflict, disconnection or difficulties in their relationship.

If you're unsure whether therapy would be appropriate for what you're experiencing, you can share a little about what brings you here through the booking form.

Do you work with children and adolescents?

Yes. I work with children, adolescents and adults, adapting the therapeutic approach to the person's age, developmental stage and concerns. Work with younger clients may also involve parents or caregivers where appropriate.

Do you work with couples?

Yes. Couples and relationship work is an important part of my practice. Sessions focus not only on the issue or disagreement that brings a couple to therapy, but also on understanding the patterns of interaction, emotional needs and ways of relating that may be keeping the problem going.

Do I need a diagnosis to start therapy?

No. You do not need to have a psychiatric diagnosis to seek therapy. People come to therapy for many reasons, including difficulties they may not have a name for.

You can seek support when something feels difficult, overwhelming, repetitive or simply no longer feels like it is working for you.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity to understand what brings you to therapy, what has been happening, and what you would like to be different. We will also discuss relevant background and begin thinking together about what might be helpful.

You do not need to prepare everything beforehand or know exactly what to say.

For couples, the first session also helps us understand the relationship concerns and the patterns you may be getting caught in together.

How often will I need to come for therapy?

This varies depending on the concern, goals and stage of therapy. Sessions are often scheduled weekly or fortnightly, particularly in the initial stages, and frequency can be reviewed as therapy progresses.

There is no fixed number of sessions that applies to everyone.

Do you offer online and in-person sessions?

Yes. Online sessions are available through the website booking system.

In-person appointments are available at Max Smart Hospital, Saket and Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon. Hospital appointments are scheduled separately through the respective hospital.

Do you offer therapy to clients living outside India?

Yes. Online therapy may be available to clients residing outside India, subject to the applicable professional and regulatory requirements.

International fees are applicable to clients residing outside India and are displayed in USD during the booking process.

Cancellations made 12 hours or more before the scheduled session are eligible for a full refund or one-time rescheduling.

Late Cancellation & No-Show

Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled session, as well as missed appointments without prior notice, will be charged at the full session fee and cannot be rescheduled.

Refunds

Where a refund is applicable, it will be processed to the original payment method within 5–7 working days. Actual crediting time may vary depending on the payment provider or bank.

Payment & Confirmation

Payment is required to confirm an appointment. A session is considered booked only once payment has been successfully received.

Emergencies

I understand that unexpected situations can arise. Genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch as soon as possible if something unforeseen prevents you from attending your session.

Can I contact you before booking?

Yes. If you're unsure whether therapy or a particular type of session would be appropriate, you can share your question through the enquiry form. This can be particularly helpful if you're unsure whether you would benefit from individual or couples therapy.

What if I am in crisis or need immediate help?

Therapy sessions are not an emergency service. If you are experiencing an immediate mental health emergency, are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent support, please seek immediate assistance through local emergency or healthcare services.
